Voting is without a doubt one of most important responsibilities we have as Texans.

Voting is an important tool for expressing our values and influencing policies. Elections and voting are opportunities for citizens to come together to shape the future of our communities, our state, and our country.

If you aren’t currently registered or have never voted, let’s change that! Here are some helpful tips and resources:

Voter Eligibility

If you are a United States citizen, and 17 years 10 months old you can and should register to vote. Don’t take your right to vote for granted. Hundreds of thousands of people fought hard for this right – exercise it.

Registering to vote means your name will be added to an official list of eligible voters. If you are an eligible citizen you must be registered before you can vote on election day. You can find out if you are currently registered here: teamrv-mvp.sos.texas.gov/MVP/mvp.do.

If you are not registered you can complete an application here: www.register2vote.org Fill out and submit the required information. You will then be mailed a completed voter application and a stamped, addressed envelope. Sign and date your completed application and put it in the mail.Another option is to complete an application at your local library or high school.

You can also complete your voter registration application with a local Deputy Voter Registrar. We have several Voter Registrars on our team, let us know if we can help you get registered. Become a registered voter and join a growing list of individuals ready to make their voices heard.

Updating Your Voter Registration

Have you recently moved? If you have recently moved, but you didn’t move to a new county you can update your information online here: www.mytexasvotes.com.

If you have recently moved to a new county you must re-register. Complete an application here: www.mytexasvotes.com, fill it out, print it, sign it, stamp it and mail it in, or turn it in to your county election office.

Updating your voter registration is also required if you’ve changed your name or have not voted in the last four years You can find out if you are currently registered here: www.mytexasvotes.com.
